Happy Monday, folks! Soooooo much to talk about! It’s been a crazy, awesome weekend! The Holiday Party was a MAJOR success!!!! It was so great to see CrossFit Kirkwoodians in their native habitat. I.e. Not dressed in gym clothes.
“Brooke, did you just dye your hair?”
“No, it’s always been that color.”
Who’d woulda thunk it?!?! And the White Elephant exchange was hilarious!! I was pretty bummed I forgot to bring a present. I had my eye “paleo” salmon. (for those of you who didn’t make it – it was CHOCOLATE in the shape of a salmon!!! Clever.)
Rachel took a bunch of pictures on her camera, so we’ll get to see some ACTUAL party pics soon. Until then, let’s check out what else went on this weekend.
On Saturday, I spent the day at the Kirkwood Winter Challenge Weightlifting Meet. After watching the women make some impressive lifts, I also lifted. I went 1/3 in the snatch and 3/3 in the clean and jerk. 88kg/126kg for a 214 kg total. (That’s 194lb/277lb and 471 lb total for the CrossFitters). Pretty fun times!
While my finish doesn’t inspire much fanfare, another Kirkwoodian’s definitely does. Jason Terry ran the St. Jude Marathon in Memphis. He finished in 3:23:56 and came in 107th place out of over 2600 runners!!! Awesome job, Jason!!
