I know I’ve just about beaten you over the head with this, but I have one more thing to say about pacing. Then, I’ll drop it forever (Ha! Yeah right). Check out this graph. It shows Froning and Fraser’s reps over the course of the workout. If you look very carefully, you can see that they slow down just a little over the course of the workout. Taken at first glance, it looks pretty close to a straight line. So, what does this tell you? That they did an incredible job of PACING. A steady pace throughout the workout. Now think about your workout. If you were to chart it, would the reps spike up off the bat, only to taper off by the end? If so, you may benefit from slowing down in the beginning. Couldn’t hurt to do things a little more like the 4 time champion.
