Well, it’s that time of year. Time for the CrossFit Games Open. If you’re not familiar with this phenomena, the CrossFit Games Open is the first stage of the CrossFit Games. The best part about it is that anyone can play. You don’t have to be the best athlete in the world, the best athlete in your region, or even the best athlete in your gym. Just like regular classes, there are Rx and scaled divisions.
Just like last year, we will tackle the open workouts during Saturday classes. If the workout isn’t substantial enough, we’ll have extra work to do.
The real question is this, “Can’t I do the workouts and just not sign up?” Of course you can. I’m sure thousands of people do that. BUT – it just isn’t as fun. Have you ever bet on a sports game? Baseball, hockey, football, or whatever? Isn’t it much more exciting to watch when you have a little skin in the game?
Here’s the deal. It’s $20. There are 5 workouts over the course of 5 weeks. That’s $4/workout. Or 57 cents/day. And believe me, there is excitement to be had every day. Trying to guess the workouts. Watching videos of ridiculous performances. Checking the leaderboard to see if you’re beating your friends. Trust me, your $20 will be well worth it.
