Week of 7/17

We are 1 week away from the start of Whole 30!! If you’re ready to clean up your diet and see some real results, get ready! If you haven’t already, ready the rules of the program. Here are the highlights:

Eat meats, vegetables, some fruit, some nuts and seeds.

Don’t eat grains, dairy, legumes, alcohol, added sugar, or paleo versions of cheats. And don’t get on the scale during your 30 days!!!! You will see some good weight loss, but focus more on how you look and feel. Many people like to do before and after weigh-ins and pictures. We’d LOVE to see your results!

For me, the key to success is preparation. I want to have healthy food on hand at all times. I plan out my meals and make sure there are left overs. Here are a couple things I’m doing to prepare:

  • I ordered some nutpods creamer. Amie wouldn’t last 30 days without cream in her coffee and coconut milk isn’t quite the same. Check out this link for a whole list of Whole 30 approved vendors.
  • Oh bacon. How I love thee. Unfortunately, most bacon is cured in sugar. I ordered some from Pre-made Paleo. Sometimes, you can find Naked Bacon in the grocery store, but I’m prepared even if they’re out.
  • I’m a condiment junkie. Here’s a super easy recipe for paleo mayo, if you don’t want to buy your own. I also make clarified butter to avoid the super high priced ghee in stores.
  • I love a huge salad, too. Usually, I make an easy balsamic vinaigrette, but you can also check out Tessemae’s selection of Whole 30 approved dressings.
