As we continue our journey to find the optimal damper setting, I wanted to give you a little more info to chew on. Here is an article from Concept 2, the manufacturer of our lovely rowers. They don’t talk about what kind of athlete should use what damper setting, but I do like one line at the end. “In general, lower damper settings are best for aerobic workouts, while higher damper settings make rowing more of a strength workout.” So, the question is, what kind of workout do you want the rower to be? The answer varies, depending on the workout, but it is important to keep this general rule in mind.
